Pioneering a Green Future for South Carolina: CLIMB Fund Selected for Prestigious OFN Nascent Climate Lender Pilot Training Program
CLIMB Fund is proud to announce its selection for Opportunity Finance Network’s (OFN) Nascent Climate Lender Pilot Training Program, a six-month initiative designed to accelerate the development and impact of climate-focused lending programs. This highly competitive program attracted over 100 applicants nationwide, and CLIMB Fund is honored to be among the 35 organizations chosen to participate.
The Nascent Climate Lender Pilot Training Program is a groundbreaking effort by OFN to support mission-driven financial institutions in building capacity for climate lending. Through this program, participants will engage in a series of comprehensive training sessions, peer learning opportunities, and expert-led workshops aimed at advancing green lending practices and promoting climate resilience in underserved communities.
The program is funded in part by the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund (GGRF), a $27 billion initiative established under the Inflation Reduction Act. The GGRF represents a historic investment in combating climate change by mobilizing capital for projects that reduce greenhouse gas emissions, especially in low-income and disadvantaged communities. By participating in this training, CLIMB Fund strengthens its commitment to addressing climate change while supporting South Carolina’s small businesses and entrepreneurs in adopting sustainable practices.
“We are thrilled to be part of OFN’s Nascent Climate Lender Pilot Training Program,” said Cindi Rourk, CEO of CLIMB Fund. “This opportunity will enhance our ability to deliver innovative climate lending solutions, empowering businesses across South Carolina to achieve both economic growth and environmental sustainability.”
By joining this program, CLIMB Fund takes a crucial step forward in advancing its climate lending efforts, reinforcing its dedication to building strong, environmentally conscious communities. Additionally, this program will support the development of our GreenPath SC program, furthering our mission to drive sustainability and resilience across South Carolina.
