South Carolina Microlending Powerhouse Achieves New Heights in Impact Report
CLIMB Fund announced today the release of its 2023 Annual Report, which captures another year of significant impact under the theme "Small Business, Big Impact."
The report highlights CLIMB Fund's biggest year yet with 109 loans totaling $6.4 million provided, including over 60% to BIPOC-owned businesses. This tremendous success led to a record $16 million total portfolio size and 312 active loans. Additionally, CLIMB Fund maintained its position as South Carolina's top SBA microlender by volume and dollars lent for the 15th consecutive year.
"We focused last year on partnerships, outreach and environmental justice while delivering financing that supported jobs and economic opportunities statewide," said CEO Cindi Rourk. "Through innovations, new programs and growth, we were able to better serve our clients and communities."
Key accomplishments in 2023 included a $2.8 million award to support equitable recovery, new technology upgrades, over 16,000 hours of business consulting, expansion to 19 counties reached, and new sustainability initiatives.
